Our client, a well-established professional services firm based in Larnaca, Cyprus is seeking for an Accountant. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial records and accounting activities of a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Duties and Responsibilities
Record and maintain daily accounting transactions accurately and in a timely manner
Perform account reconciliations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and related accounting activities
Support and execute day-to-day accounting processes and tasks
Prepare and maintain VAT reports and related accounting data in accordance with applicable requirements and instructions
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end closing activities and reporting
Prepare client files and supporting documentation for audit purposes according to the agreed schedule
Review accounting records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards
Coordinate and communicate with internal departments to support accounting and intercompany activities
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, government authorities and other external stakeholders when required
Support the implementation of new systems and process improvements where necessary
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar accounting role in an audit firm
Good command of both Greek and English languages
Good working knowledge of accounting software and MS Office applications
Knowledge of accounting principles and VAT procedures
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage priorities and work independently
